Traditional craftsmanship in the service of contemporary design.

A development project, a bar chain or a modern hotel. Proof that our classic manufacturing processes will best underline your modern image.

Swedish developer Kungsleden AB is behind the office project The Rotterdam district in the Värtahamnen district of Stockholm. Its vision is an attractive space that will make the working time of all users more pleasant and enriched by its qualities and at the same time meet the environmental requirements of sustainability. For the presentation of the project, we deliberately chose a traditional set of cardboard boards, sewn brochures and printed maps. The architectural concept was thus emphasized by natural Kraft cardboard with black embossing in the heat and classic bookbinding details. Documents for the project were protected by plates with riveted roundels and wound thread, the brochure revealed the classic method of sewing a weave in the back. Following the straightforward openness of the project. Maps of individual spaces were inserted into glued pockets with a unique cut-out for fingerboard holes.

O'Learys is a franchise chain of sports bars founded in 1988 in Gothenburg. With 130 restaurants worldwide, it is today one of the largest establishments in its category. The atmosphere in the bars is elemental and emotional. Therefore, we have chosen durable materials and technologies for the menu. A veneered plate with finely rounded corners and an oiled finish as a base into which a durable logotype was embossed in the heat, while the black ring mechanics were created by the now exceptional manual riveting on a single-purpose machine. Due to how quickly and successfully our menu proved itself, in the end a production project of many thousands for the whole world was created. It was also an exceptional order for us outside of classic paper-based solutions, yet the traditional bookbinding craft managed it with confidence and to the satisfaction of the client.

A modern hotel must be full of precise details. This is also the philosophy of the Downtown Camper by Scandic Hotel in central Stockholm. Everything that visitors come into contact with is therefore given special care – including information materials. For 494 hotel rooms, we have produced unique boards made of Colorplan Smoke cardboard with a distinctive and clear black depth embossing. With the help of a riveted grommet, the information sheets themselves are attached to the plates, printed for durability reasons on specially selected Olin smooth paper, which is at the same time extremely pleasant to the touch. Again, this is a visually simple, but in terms of materials spectacular solution underlining the concept of hotel design.
