We Never Get Our Wires Crossed
Every machine has a story. That's why at Hässlers we believe that even old-school technology doesn't belong in the old iron. On the contrary. Many of them have something in them that you will never find in modern machines. Soul. One such treasure is our Brehmer Leipzig wire machine from the 1950s. It's a veteran, but it can turn cardboard die-cuts into designer covers that not only aren't outdated, but still catch the eye today.
In Creativity We Trust
Cardboard, paper, wool, polyurethanes, canvas, leather, cardboard... In our craft, we have a huge variety of materials at our disposal that can be transformed into functional and design-sophisticated packaging, bookbindings or even promotional sets thanks to a creative idea. We produced one of these for our participation at the Brand Management conference in Prague in October 2024, and we're launching the first part of our new "Material Spotlight" section. We need to start with a bang!
Hero. Of all channels.
Bjorn, a colleague of the Stockholm office, came up with a book project that is unparalleled in the world of real estate marketing more than a year and a half ago. We wanted to introduce the project to you a long time ago, but to be honest, we had to take a break from it first - 50 copies, each made up of 98 components, 4 x 1091 km on a plane and a crazy 8,952 minutes of production. But it was the only way to make "Hero of all channels".
Unboxing to the beat of the beats
Description of the companies latest project Footshop and adidas Forum "Quell Beats" - "From Quiet to Loud and Everything in Between," speaks clearly. "From Quiet to Noise, and Everything in Between." The special box includes clean white sneakers, a select set to personalize them and, of course, instructions on how to install them on your shoes.
Luxuriously burnt packaging
The finely textured Colorplan paper impresses with its rich plum blue colour, from which the snow-white screen printing and gold embossing stand out intensely. The sophisticated, complex construction fulfils our idea of a luxurious cover to the last drop.
Version "Hässlers Pro"
An even bigger display, even more power, an even faster processor... This is how Apple marketers teach us to perceive the Pro version. But for us, it's still mostly shorthand for the word "professional" - so products for professional use. For work, for creative activity, in short, any business. Such products are in heavy use every day, and the success or downfall of the company that uses them can depend on their quality. That's why we pay attention to them in our special "Hässlers Pro" line.
Our Grandmasters
Are you familiar with the "10,000 Hour Rule" popularized by journalist and author Malcolm Gladwell? It says that before a person can become a master in any field, he or she must devote at least 10,000 hours intensively to it. But some of our colleagues at Hässlers have been practicing their bookbinding craft for over 100,000 hours! So when we call them grandmasters, it is not an exaggeration.
Beyond the Wave.
Do you find corrugated board boring? Appearances are deceiving! We have 3 recent projects to prove to you that corrugated cardboard only has bad PR. It's actually great! We at Hässlers absolutely love it. When you want packaging that is simple but allows you to combine unique design and perfect protective properties, nothing beats corrugated cardboard.
Wedding of the year!
Welcome to a new era! And we have a joyful announcement to make After much deliberation, the three well-known companies Hässlers, Hospa and Profilskaparen have decided to join together on the basis of their common love for printing, packaging innovation and bookbinding. The newlyweds will continue to use the common name HÄSSLERS CZ.
czechcrunch.cz - "He is learning to swim in the bookbinding business. From bankruptcy, the Czechs have gone on to book contracts for Marvel and Netflix."
Book and paper manufacturing may not sound sexy, but the Paters have built a company that is among the top in the industry. Now they're gaining strength in the European market.
Your own way. Period.
With our clients, we often go where others keep their doors closed. We are not afraid of complicated solutions to fulfill the assignment. Sometimes so complex that the implementation is at the very limit of technical possibilities. But this is the only way to create a true Gesamtkunstwerk - an integral work of art. Like the book "I Believe" by photographer Alžběta Jungrová. An artefact that combines photography, graphic design, traditional and modern printing techniques, interactive concept and bookbinding craft.
夢が実現する
When our clients want a truly extraordinary paper or cardboard, we invite them to our showroom for a cup of good Japanese tea and introduce them to the swatches from Takeo Paper in Japan. They contain tens of thousands of items that are simply impossible not to choose from. That's why we always say - if you want something really special, you'll find it in Japan.
Hollow Wall Box
Roof terrace of a luxury duplex in Prague's Old Town. The gothic spires of Týn Cathedral are surrounded by the glowing veil of the setting sun, which also illuminates the subtle glasses of Dom Perignon Vintage Champagne. A broker in an impeccable suit holds out a golden pen, the trembling couple don't even breathe. Just a signature and the apartment with the unique view will be theirs. Every detail plays an important role in the harmony of the moment, even though you may not even notice it at the time.
Splendor ultima ratio*
Niche cosmetics Manasi 7 is exceptional from the look of it. The minimalist packaging is given the utmost care. However, in the spirit of the company's manifesto "Declaration of 7", the content - unique make-up composites - is also carefully crafted. Susanne Manasi and Olof Lindqvist know no shortcuts or compromises in business. They recognise one *absolute benchmark - perfection.
Turn on, tune in, drop out.
We've had a psychedelic experience! Our consciousness has been opened by a unique hand-dyed paper from the last century. We also recoded the designer Pavel Kahotski to another level of mind and together we fell into 60s design from Sweden. This resulted in a unique set of boxes for the brands IOKO and Nasstasia Alienikava. Hold on.
I can't fit on one page!
Sewn book binding is a classic with a specific beauty. But what if you need the full width of the book for the imagery? A double page will never open completely flat, and the very centre of the artistic intention will be laced with threads. When you want to present large-scale visualisations of the Walter's longhouses in a valuable way, one classic page is simply not enough.
Sustainability is a myth
"Everything man does creates more harm than good. We have to accept that fact and not delude ourselves into thinking something is sustainable. Then you can try to achieve a situation where you're causing the least amount of harm possible. That's the spin we put on it. It's a never-ending summit." / Yvon Chouinard 2019
CKKNT
We enjoy it when every project is different. We are not tempted to do only one type of work. After all, bookmaking is the mother of printing crafts. We enjoy tackling different, sometimes a little crazy assignments. We like adventure and we like to be inspired by our clients. This time we're going to present you with 5 different assignments that required 5 different solutions. In short, 5 different inspirations that had one thing in common: we realized all of them with Lessebo's materials.
THE BIG ROLLOUT
Even if you have a great team and top production, there's only one path from the best ideas to the best products - through the best materials. Plus, you need to make sure they're available quickly and at the right price. That's why we are bringing a new top brand to the Czech market: the Lessebo Paper from Sweden!
SIGNATURE PAPER
Packaging sells, says the tried and true. And we're sorry it's started to sound like a cliché, because it's being repeated everywhere. Because we dare say that the design and production of Kintsugi niche perfume packaging is pure proof of its truth. Thanks to the soul mates.
